PHILOSOPHY OF THE SCHOOL:

 

All staff members of school of nursing are in agreement, all are working towards a common goal to achieve the quality education of students – within the limitation of circumscribed program, it is of paramount importance that there should be philosophy of school as a whole, with which all staff members are familiar, to avoid conflict in the implementation of the programme.

The staff of “Kuki School of Nursing” believes that –

 

1. The basic courses in Nursing are a formal educational preparation which should be based on educational principles. We recognize it as the foundation on which the practice of nursing is built and on which further professional education depends. At the same time, we believe that we have responsibility to the student and to the society, to make provision in due programme for the continued development of the student as an individual, a citizen as well as a nurses.

2. Our concept of nursing is based on the definition of INC (Indian Nursing Council) of the unique function of the Nurse which is “to assist the individual, sick or well, in the performance of those activities contributing to health or its recovery (or to peaceful death) that she/he would perform unaided if she/he had the necessary strength, will or knowledge. And to do this in such a way to help him gain independence as rapidly as possible”.

3. A good communication skill is essential for learning and for practice of nursing. We believe that we have responsibility in helping the student to develop pride in the profession and in guiding them with respect to their future in nursing and all round development of the students.

4. That the nursing is a profession which is influenced by advances in science and technology. We accept the definition of Indian Nursing Council.
