Things to Know

Examination Board:

Kuki School of Nursing is affiliated to the Assam Nurses Midwives and Health Visitor’s Council, Khanapara, Six mile, Guwahati – 22 which also serves as the examination board for the course.

Pre-Clinical Period:

The first three month of the training program is the assessment period, at the end of which a first-term examination is held to evaluate the student’s ability to continue the course. Minimum 50% marks in each subject is required to be able continue the course as per norms

Hostel:

Hostel accommodation is available for female candidates only. The hostel is equipped with all the required facilities:

  • Spacious and separate rooms for  in dormitory style –

  • Bed, study table with locker and a chair.

  •  

  • Proper accommodation and food are being provided to all students except boys as this is a residential program.

  •  All the students are required to remain in the allocated accommodation and adhere to the hostel rules and regulations as mentioned.

Hostel and School Rules:

  1. All students are expected to abide by the rule and regulation of the Nursing School and the Hostel, Failing to which appropriate disciplinary action will be taken. A level of professional standard is expected from the students.

  2. Students are not allowed to go out of the hostel or school without permission.

  3. Outing allowed only one day in a month on Saturday in four groups of ten (10) students.

  4. They are allowed mobile phone only 5 PM to 6 PM then to be deposit to the warden.

  5. Visitors are allowed on 2nd and 4th Sunday only from 10 AM to 4PM. No persons are allowed to enter the incumbent’s room. Visitors are allowed to visit only for one hour

  6. Student are not allowed to enter others room during study hours. Study hour from 6 PM to 9 PM & 10 PM to 11 PM light should be put off at 11 PM.

  7. No precious articles or jewelleries are allowed in the hostel. If anybody keeps, institute will not be responsible for loss or damage.

  8. Students are not allowed to use stove, heater or iron in the room.

  9. There will be prayer at 6 PM every day and all the students must be present without fail. Roll call will be done after prayer.

  10. Any illness should inform to the warden.

  11. The student should keep the school premises clean.

  12. All students are expected to speak English in the School and in Hostel.

  13. Students should attend clinical posting and classes on time.

  14. At the time of admission, parents/guardian must give a list of visitors they would allow their ward to meet frequently visit are not encouraged.

  15. The principal hold the right to open any parcel/letter coming to the students and to deal with them accordingly.

Mess facilities:

The hostel is provided with a mess that provides nutritious and fresh food every day. All students are required to eat the food provided in the hostel.

Campus Activities:

Various campus activities are provided for the students, such as facilities for recreation, social and professional gatherings picnics and field trips.

Health Care:

  1. All students are expected to be fully immunized before joining the course. Specifically, with two doses of Covid-19 Vaccine and with Hepatitis-B Vaccine.

  2. Annual health checkup is Compulsory for all the students.

  3. Students are encouraged to live healthier.

  4. Any cost of significant illness requiring referral of the student to a higher center will be borne by the parent/guardian.

Uniform:

For Female Student:

  1. White apron, purple colour top, Black pant, white cap, badge & identity card.

  2. Black sweater in winter

  3. Black shoe with white socks.

For male student:

  1. White apron, purple colour shirt, Black pant, badge & identity card.

  2. Black sweater in winter.

  3. Black shoe with white socks.

For community posting:

  • Female Students:

  1. White Salwar, Green Dupatta and identity card and badge.

  • Male Students:

  1. White Shirt, White pant with badge and identity card, Black shoe with white Socks.

Leave and vacation:

Vacation: Four weeks of vacation for 1st Year and 2nd Year. For 3rd Year, only two weeks of vacation as per the syllabus.

Sick Leave: A maximum of 15 days sick leave per Year is allowed. If a student is sick for more than 40 days, He/She will be eligible to sit for exam at a later date and the period of training will be extended.

Weekly Day Off: One day every week.

Preparatory leaves: 7 days.

National Holidays: As per School Policy.

Anti-Ragging Resolution:

  1. The hon’ble supreme court of India order to implement Anti Ragging Recommendation of the Lyngdoh Committee- 02.04.2008 and UGC REGULATION, 2009- 14.12.2009, is implemented strictly.

  2. It is declared that any student if found guilty of ragging, will be terminated from the course.

Discontinuation of training:

  1. NO FEE WILL BE REFUNDED IF THE STUDENT DISCONTINUES THE COURSE.

  2. Student discontinue the course will be required to pay the fee for the entire duration of the course (i.e. 1st Year, 2nd Year &3rd Year) to the Nursing School.

  3. Any students getting married during the course will be asked to discontinue the training.

  4. Any students not abiding by the rule and regulation will be terminated.
